Back to the TV trailer park: Dexter, Yellowjackets’ final sting, Terminal List, The Pitt, The Diplomat

Yellowjackets | Paramount+

By Josh

After a very busy last few weeks of summer, I took an overdue spin through the Rotten Tomatoes TV YouTube channel last night to check out some of the many trailers and news items I apparently missed.

Just like the fall, another thing that rules is some good shows that are on the way back including the end of one of the most intriguing mystery box shows in the last few years.

Yellowjackets s4 | November 2026

The Paramount/Showtime series will begin its final run on Friday, November 20 as revealed by the video below. This apparently was revealed two weeks ago (!) so that’s how out of the loop I was.

No idea at this point how many episodes it will be, but as always, all you can hope for in mystery box shows is to get all the burning questions answered before it takes a final bow.

I can’t imagine the season wraps up before year’s end although if they double up for a few weeks, a finale on Christmas would be kinda wild in a less popular Stranger Things kinda way. I’ll work on a Should You Watch post in the next week or so if you’ve never seen the show.

The Pitt s3 | January 2027

At the risk of sounding fraudulent, we still have yet to finish the first season. (I know, I know. We were late adopters and didn’t start until we were on vacation earlier this year). But the announcement of the impending return in January means we need to get goin’. Also, how refreshing is it to have a prestige-ish show that comes back every year?

The Terminal List s2 | October 2026

Four years since it first came out (!!!), Chris Pratt’s military revenge series on Prime Video is back in October wth a very frail looking Pratt. Other than him getting revenge for his family being killed (I think?), I don’t remember much about this.

While I did watch the Dark Wolf spin-off starring Taylor Kitsch that did feature some Pratt, nearly half a decade apart between seasons is way, way too long to care about the story. I’ll watch, but I’ll complain, too!

The Diplomat s4 | October 2026

After a really entertaining split season three, the Keri Russell-led political drama returns on October 15 with a likely full season drop. Also, here’s a good interview/feature on Russell and longtime partner Matthew Rhys that is worth your time. They seem fun.

Dexter: Resurrection s2

A late addition to the list, the second season of a great Dexter revival arrives in late-October. I really enjoyed the first season of Resurrection after not really loving the Fresh Blood revival that preceded it. (I still have yet to watch First Blood.)

All the blood aside, it’s back in less than two months. And, Dexter has glasses?
