Your Friends & Neighbors | Apple TV
S2 | Friday, April 3 | 10 episodes
Jon Hamm finally got his full-on Apple TV show (remember that ad?) and even got a second season even though that was locked in before the first season even kicked off. A drama set among the upper crust of society, YF&N is about Hamm raging against his machine and breaking into his neighbors’ houses after he gets fired from his job. Hijinks (and violence) follows.
What does s2 have in the holster? More of the same, but now with “Mr. Everywhere” James Marsden.
I gave the first season a B+ and described it as “If Lifestyles of The Rich & Famous was a TV show involving burglary of those people by one of those people.” So, there you go.
The Audacity | AMC
S1 | Sunday, April 12 | Eight episodes
The first time I heard of this show was stumbling upon it while watching trailers on YouTube. I was intrigued and then, I saw another trailer and was more in. I used to work in the tech bro startup field and the two minutes I saw resonated with me quite a bit. Will the rest of it hold up? That remains to be literally seen, but if it’s anything like the early seasons of Silicon Valley, it’s worth the gamble. Now I just need to find where I can watch AMC for cheap.
Margo’s Got Money Troubles | Apple TV
S1 | Wednesday, April 15 | Eight episodes
This is another one where I learned about it watching trailers. Elle Fanning (the criminally underrated The Great) leads a cast that features Nicole Kidman and NICK OFFERMAN AS A PRO WRESTLER. ‘Nuff said. This is a David E. Kelley project, he of a few shows I have liked in recent years like Presumed Innocent, Love & Death, Big Little Lies, The Undoing, and many more. I’m in.

S2 | Thursday, April 16 | Eight episodes
The first season was a breakout hit for the streaming service featuring two Asian Americans (played by Steven Yeun and Ali Wong) getting into a road rage conflict and everything going to hell after that. It was tremendous and I’m excited/hesitant for the follow up. It seems to be a completely new story featuring Oscar Isaac and some other actors I’m not familiar with.
After how much I loved the first one, I have to give this a shot. And at 30 minutes-ish per episode, you should too.
American Gladiators | Prime Video
S1 | Friday, April 17 | Ten episodes
I mean, how can I not give this a shot? The season will be dropped in three separate blocks which I also like.
Widow’s Bay | Apple TV
S1 | Wednesday, April 29 | Ten episodes
There isn’t a lot out there about this, but the first trailer was intriguing and anything with Matthew Rhys earns a try. It’s described as “as the mayor of a remote New England town whose push to revive his community is complicated by superstitious locals and unsettling events that suggest the town may be cursed.” I’m not a horror fan, but I’ll give this a shot…with the lights on.
Man on Fire | Netflix
S1 | Thursday, April 30 | Seven episodes
I loved Wonder Man with Yahya Abdul-Mateen II being the main reason why. He returns with this series I wasn’t aware of until, you guessed it, I watched a trailer. The description: “John Creasy, a wounded former mercenary on a quest to get revenge for the loss of his only companion while defending the daughter of his dead colleague from the forces that tore her family apart.” Sounds good to me.
The show is not a reboot of the Man on Fire novels that the Denzel Washington movie came from, but a different spin on it which is all the rage these days. In any case, it looks great.
